In this energetic role, you will ascend trees with precision and confidence, performing essential tree care tasks that promote growth, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Your expertise will help shape vibrant environments while ensuring safety standards are met. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in arboriculture, landscape maintenance, and specialized equipment operation. Duties Safely ascend and descend trees using climbing gear, harnesses, and rigging techniques to access difficult or high branches. Perform pruning, trimming, and removal of trees to promote healthy growth and mitigate hazards. Operate bucket trucks and bucket lifts to reach elevated work areas efficiently and securely. Use rigging equipment to carefully lower branches or debris, ensuring safety for team members and property. Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as lawn care, planting, and general landscaping to support overall site aesthetics. Conduct inspections of trees for disease, structural integrity, and growth patterns; report findings for further action. Maintain detailed records of work performed using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools for mapping and planning purposes. Requirements Proven growing experience in tree care, horticulture, or related landscape fields. Knowledge of tree trimming techniques, tree health assessment, and pruning standards. Ability to operate bucket trucks safely and efficiently; experience with bucket operation is highly preferred. Familiarity with rigging procedures for safe removal or pruning of large branches or trees. Basic understanding of GIS technology for mapping tree locations and landscape features. Strong physical fitness with the ability to climb trees comfortably while wearing safety gear. Excellent attention to detail in inspecting trees for hazards or disease signs; good communication skills for reporting findings.
Nice-to-have Skills:
Experience with landscaping or lawn care activities beyond tree work. Horticulture background or certifications demonstrating knowledge of plant health management.
