Job Description
Job opening for an arborist for the summer of 2026. Experience/prior introduction to rope access climbing desirable, but not necessary. ISA certification or willingness to obtain a huge bonus. Weekday schedule should be flexible, occasional weekend days worked. For the right candidate, may lead to long term employment.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Pruning trees in accordance with industry standard practices
- Assisting with removal of trees
- Dragging brush and carrying logs in excess of 50lbs often.
- Raking, shoveling, and using hand tools
- Operating a wood chipper, chainsaw, and other power equipment. Additionally, maintaining and minor repairs of this equipment.
- Using ropes and rigging equipment to lower pieces.
- Driving and backing a truck and trailer.
- Operation of aerial lift
- Adherence to all ANSI and other safety standards while working.
Absolute requirements:
- Strong work ethic
- Desire to learn
- Adherence to safety standards
- Driver's license Skills desired:
- Familiarity with chainsaw and power equipment use/maintenance
- Education in arboriculture, forestry, or a natural resource related field.
