About the Role The Cultivation Specialist is responsible for supporting all stages of cannabis cultivation, including plant care, irrigation, pruning, harvesting, sanitation, and facility maintenance. This role plays a critical part in producing healthy, high-quality cannabis while maintaining operational efficiency, product consistency, and compliance throughout the cultivation process. Working closely with Cultivation Leads and Supervisors, this position performs daily cultivation activities, maintains accurate production records, and supports a clean, organized, and compliant cultivation environment. This is a hands-on cultivation role requiring strong attention to detail, consistency, and a commitment to producing premium cannabis products. Responsibilities Plant Care & Cultivation Perform daily cultivation activities including watering, feeding, pruning, defoliation, transplanting, trellising, and general plant maintenance Monitor plant health and identify concerns related to pests, disease, irrigation, nutrition, or environmental conditions Execute Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures as directed Assist with harvesting, plant movement, and post-harvest preparation activities Support consistent plant development through established cultivation practices and production schedules Production & Cultivation Support Maintain accurate production logs, cultivation records, daily checklists, and maintenance documentation Assist with cultivation schedules and daily workflow priorities Cross-train and provide support to other cultivation departments as operational needs require Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned Compliance & Recordkeeping Follow all state regulations and internal compliance procedures Ensure all work is completed in accordance with SOPs and operational standards Maintain accurate cultivation and inventory documentation Support inventory tracking and accountability as directed Participate in required compliance, safety, and operational training Facility Maintenance & Sanitation Maintain clean, organized, and compliant cultivation rooms, work areas, storage areas, and surrounding facility spaces Support waste handling, plant destruction, and disposal procedures in accordance with company policies Assist with general cultivation facility maintenance, including irrigation systems, equipment, and environmental controls as directed Follow all safety protocols and proper use of PPE Maintain cultivation tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required Prior cannabis cultivation experience preferred Familiarity with commercial agricultural, greenhouse, or horticultural practices preferred Basic knowledge of plant anatomy, irrigation systems, nutrient management, and cultivation techniques preferred Must possess and maintain an active FA Card Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced cultivation environment Reliable transportation required Work Environment & Physical Requirements This role is primarily onsite in Tempe, AZ and requires regular work within cannabis cultivation facilities. The position typically follows a 40-hour workweek, including weekends and overtime as operational needs require. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movement throughout the workday. Employees must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds while handling plants, cultivation equipment, and materials. Work is performed in an agricultural production environment with exposure to cannabis plants, humidity, temperature fluctuations, cleaning agents, and cultivation equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, hair nets, masks, and other required safety equipment, must be worn as required.
