Job Description

Job Summary The Vegetation Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and vitality of our vegetative cannabis plants. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of vegetation care, including pruning, topping, and maintenance scheduling. This position also ensures accurate inventory records, assist in transplanting schedules, and lead vegetation teams as needed. The Vegetation Manager works closely with cultivation teams to implement best practices and achieve optimal plant growth and development. This role is instrumental in maintaining a healthy plant count supply for the flower room and contributing to the overall success of our cannabis production. Duties and Responsibilities Develop and execute vegetation maintenance schedules, including pruning and topping, to promote healthy plant growth and optimize yield. Monitor and maintain health & schedule for pruning and topping of all vegetative plants as well as the schedule of light ramping (hardening off). Monitor and assess plant health regularly, promptly reporting any issues or concerns to the Cultivation Manager. Collaborate with cultivation teams to create transplanting schedules and ensure adequate plant count supply for the flower room pipeline plus 20% overage to optimize flower yields through selective culling. Lead and supervise vegetation teams, providing guidance and direction to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Maintain accurate inventory records of vegetative plants, updating systems, including Trellis and Google sheets as necessary to reflect current stock levels. Participate in flower room move-in activities as directed by management, assisting with plant transfer and setup tasks. Collect and analyze data to support cultivation department objectives, contributing to the development of cultivation strategies and goals. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing cannabis cultivation. Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times. Attend management meetings as required, providing updates on vegetation care activities and contributing to decision-making processes. Print travelers for new batches & record activities. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the overall operation of the cultivation facility. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent training and experience required. Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field preferred. Prior experience in cannabis cultivation or horticulture required. Strong knowledge of vegetation care techniques, including pruning, topping, and transplanting. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate teams. Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping systems. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet the demands of the cultivation operation. Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check as required by state regulations. Must possess a valid City Badge. Must be able to pass a background check. Must be reliable and dependable with a good work ethic. Work Environment This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in proximity with staff. Job Requirements Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed. Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule. Must be able to travel to other office locations. Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or more. Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry. Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
