A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

The Farm and Garden Specialist maintains and enriches the practice of regenerative farming at Camp Stevens. This unique role combines maintaining an educational garden environment for guests and campers with growing produce for the camp kitchen. The Farm and Garden Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of the gardens, farm animals, landscape, and natural areas of the camp. Pay and Benefits for
Farm and Garden Specialist:
Hourly Pay:
$19.18/hr before food and housing deduction ($13.76/hr), overtime rates based on rate before food and housing deduction.
Paid Time Off:
Paid Sick Time (accrued monthly), 12 paid vacation days per year to start, plus 14 camp-recognized paid holidays.
Healthcare Benefit:
Partially employer-funded healthcare, dental, and vision options available with employee contribution.
Housing Benefit:
Private studio cabin with kitchenette. Partner and/or friendly pets ok.
Food and Housewares Benefit:
Staff and their families can join in the dining hall for meals or bring groceries and leftovers home from the camp kitchen. Full access to paper goods, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, etc.
Paid Training:
CPR and First Aid, Archery, Belay, Etc.
