Summer Camp Educator

Summer Camp Educator Watsonville, CA Seasonal, Full-Time, Part-Time Position Farm Discovery Position Description Summer Farm Camp Counselors will lead groups of children in educational, farm-based, culinary, and art activities. Summer Farm Camp Counselors will help maintain the educational garden and fields, kitchen classroom, and other facilities. Fieldwork will include weeding, planting, harvesting, animal chores, and other farming & gardening activities. Facility maintenance will include sweeping, washing dishes, wiping surfaces, organizing art supplies, and maintaining a clean & safe kitchen. Summer Farm Camp Counselors work with and lead teen Leader's in Training to provide a fun, safe, and educational environment for our day campers.

Requirements:

Summer Farm Camp Counselors will be able to Lift 40 lbs & work outside most of the day. Walk >3-5 miles in one day, be on their feet, and active for most of the workday. Be punctual, engaged, and behave professionally.

Responsibilities:

Lead groups of K-8 students through educational, farm-based, culinary, and art activities. Implement all education programs at the direction of, or in collaboration with, the Education & Operations Managers. Work with the Field Manager on day-to-day organic farming operations with ongoing coordination with Live Earth Farm production operations. Goat herd and flocks of chickens through daily husbandry. Ability to make decisions as a team and individually and carry out work efficiently and effectively. Implementing program evaluation (quantitative and qualitative). Assist in maintenance of Farm Discovery customer database (Salesforce Software). Assist in social media, marketing, and blog entries. Act as a friendly ambassador, welcoming the public & upholding the mission of Farm Discovery and Live Earth Farm. Assume ownership of tasks. Create a happy, functioning, working community. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, offices, and surrounding area on the upper farm. Observe work schedule and timeliness.

Preferred:

Bilingual Spanish speaker.

Duration:

Beginning immediately, through August 14, 2026. Summer Farm Camp Counselors will report to the Education Manager.

Position Details:

We are hiring a full-time (40 hours/week). Pay is $18-21/hour depending on experience.
