Job Summary The Cultivation Technician plays a vital role in the growth and maintenance of plants within a greenhouse or outdoor farm setting. This position involves hands-on work to ensure optimal plant health and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and possess the necessary skills to identify plant needs, implement cultivation practices, and contribute to a thriving agricultural environment. Duties Monitor and maintain plant health through regular inspections and assessments. Identify various plant species and their specific care requirements. Utilize hand tools for planting, pruning, and harvesting activities. Assist with irrigation management to ensure adequate water supply for crops. Perform routine greenhouse maintenance including cleaning, organizing, and equipment upkeep. Move heavy objects Engage in outdoor work activities such as soil preparation, planting, and lawn care tasks. Collaborate with team members to execute cultivation plans effectively. Maintain accurate records of plant growth, treatments applied, and environmental conditions. Skills Proficient in plant identification with a strong understanding of various species' needs. Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain gardening equipment effectively. Experience in gardening or farming practices is highly desirable. Ability to perform basic math for measuring materials and calculating growth metrics. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Can work indoors in temperatures between 70 - 85 degrees. Must be able to lift heavy pots and move them from veg rooms to flower rooms.
