Horticulture Full Job Description Summary:
The Harvest Associate plays a vital role in supporting daily harvest operations within the cultivation department. The Harvest Associate is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the Harvest Process. They ensure the efficient and high-quality cannabis harvest, following company policies and regulatory standards.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Harvest Support:
Assist the Harvest Lead in organizing and managing all aspects of the Harvest Process. Maintain the organization and cleanliness of freezer storage for harvested material. Collaborate with the Harvest Lead to manage frozen material allocation based on weight, variety, and dominance per harvest. Help minimize potential dry-material waste during the Harvest process.
Harvest Operations:
Work under the guidance of the Harvest Lead to execute daily harvest operations, including data entry, chopping plants, and pre-harvest de-fanning. Support in weighing and accurately recording plant weights at the time of harvest. Assist in the collection of frozen material and ensure it is promptly processed within specified time frames. Coordinate hanging plants in specific dry rooms and contribute to frozen material preparation. Participate in the takedown process and assist in frozen material packaging.
Quality Control and Safety:
Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the working environment. Observe and assist in maintaining quality control measures, ensuring compliance with state and local laws. Report any concerns regarding diseases, insects, or mold on plants to the Harvest Lead.
Documentation and Communication:
Support the Harvest Lead(s) in maintaining accurate records of all harvest-related activities using the company's track and trace system. Immediately communicate any system/process discrepancies or improvements to the Harvest Lead(s). Collaborate with other teams to provide support and contribute to achieving facility production goals.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial cannabis production, with a focus on harvesting. Must have a positive attitude and work well with others in a team environment. Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry. Must have a valid Colorado MED Badge. Must have reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 75 pounds (200 pounds with assistance).
