Foreman Benefit Options Year-round Employment Irrigation Technician II Definition:
Work independently to diagnose and repair irrigation systems, advanced clock management, low voltage lights, and pond/pump management
Supervision Received and Exercised:
This position will work independently with occasional aid from the irrigation manager and, on occasion, may supervise Irrigation Tech I. The Irrigation Tech II receives direct supervision from the Irrigation Manager he/she is working with and indirect supervision from the owner of ATPS.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is an experienced, full time position paid hourly which requires 2-6 years experience.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be quick to learn and ready for new challenges in the irrigation industry. Knowledge of proper care and maintenance of tools. Extensive knowledge of irrigation systems and troubleshooting. Speak, read, write, and comprehend English. Demonstrated strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability:
Leads in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of simple and moderately complex irrigation systems, and assists with complex systems as needed. Tests complete irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves and timers. Locates, excavates and repairs or replaces damaged or malfunctioning equipment. Keeps proper records of work orders received and completed through Hindsite. Keeps truck inventory to a minimum while being neat and orderly for professional appearance. Assists with training new Irrigation Tech I employees as needed. Have extensive knowledge and experience diagnosing low voltage lighting systems Knowledge of water features and pump diagnostic's Have an understanding of irrigation hydraulics Maintains specified production rates
Physical/Environmental Demands:
Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. ATPS promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or Vocational training and two to 5 years (2-5) related experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Valid Colorado Driver's license is required.
Licenses/certifications:
One or More of the following: Certified Irrigation Technician APBA Backflow Tester Certified Irrigation Auditor
