is seeking a reliable, hands-on Farm Operations Lead to support daily farming operations, equipment maintenance, irrigation systems, chemical applications, and general property upkeep. This position is primarily focused on farming and maintenance work. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys working outdoors, operates equipment safely and efficiently, and takes pride in keeping a working farm running smoothly. This is a hands-on role with very little desk work. The ideal candidate leads by example, communicates effectively, and is comfortable providing direction, instruction, and support to seasonal staff, contractors, and team members when needed. A majority of this position is focused on farming operations, equipment maintenance, irrigation, chemical applications, and property management, with support provided for seasonal agritourism operations. Responsibilities Farm Operations Operate farm equipment including tractors, loaders, sprayers, and other agricultural implements. Assist with planting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilization, mowing, weed control, and crop maintenance. Apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other crop protection products in accordance with farm protocols and applicable regulations. Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems. Prepare and maintain fields, roads, and farm property. Assist with harvest and other agricultural activities as needed. Equipment & Maintenance Perform preventative maintenance on farm equipment, vehicles, and infrastructure. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues when possible. Assist with welding, fabrication, and construction projects. Maintain buildings, fencing, roads, gates, and other farm infrastructure. Keep equipment, tools, and work areas organized and in good working condition. Seasonal Support Assist with setup, maintenance, and teardown of seasonal infrastructure as needed. Support operational needs during the Fritzler Farm Park season. Respond to maintenance, equipment, weather-related, and facility issues during the fall season as needed. Agritourism support includes maintenance, equipment operation, infrastructure setup, emergency operational needs, and maintaining availability during all scheduled operating hours throughout the Farm Park season. Operations & Communication Maintain basic maintenance and repair records. Communicate equipment, supply, project, and operational needs to ownership and management. Provide regular updates on project status and completion timelines. Work closely with ownership to prioritize projects and seasonal needs. Assist in training, directing, and supporting seasonal staff, interns, contractors, and vendors as needed. Safety Operate equipment safely and follow all farm, workplace, and applicable safety procedures. Properly handle, store, and apply agricultural chemicals and products. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Qualifications Required Experience operating agricultural equipment. Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance. Experience with irrigation systems, farm maintenance, chemical application, or related work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong work ethic and dependable attendance. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license. Preferred 3+ years of farming, agricultural, construction, equipment maintenance, or related experience. Welding and fabrication experience. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, irrigation systems, and agricultural chemical applications. Colorado Qualified Supervisor License (QSL) or ability to obtain. CDL or ability to obtain one. Schedule Full-time, year-round position. Extended hours may be required during planting, harvest, seasonal setup, and special projects. Availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call support during the Fritzler Farm Park season is required . Additional Information Agricultural background strongly preferred. This role reports directly to ownership and is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands, operating equipment, and contributing to the success of a working farm. Housing Opportunity On-site housing may be available in addition to the listed compensation for the right candidate. Housing is not guaranteed and will be discussed as part of the interview process based on the applicant's qualifications, role requirements, overall fit, and housing availability.
