About us Darling Gardens, LLC is a specialty landscape business in Orange, CT. We prioritize producing a quality service to ensure customer satisfaction. Our cooperative and forward-thinking approach positions us for continued success and GROWTH. We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our small team based out of Orange, CT. Pay starting between $21-24 hourly rate! Major holidays are paid and overtime is optional. Our work environment includes:
Growth opportunities Lively atmosphere Work independently or as part of a team while maintaining high standards of horticultural quality and attention to detail. Horticulturalist - Duties & Responsibilities Install, plant, transplant, and maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and container gardens. Perform detailed garden maintenance including weeding, deadheading, pruning, edging, mulching, and seasonal cleanup. Identify desirable plants, weeds, invasive species, pests, and common plant health issues. Execute proper hand pruning and selective pruning techniques to maintain plant health, structure, and appearance. Monitor plant vigor and identify signs of insect, disease, nutrient, or environmental stress. Assist with plant procurement, material selection, and nursery pickups. Install new landscape plantings according to design plans and horticultural best practices. Maintain annual flower displays, seasonal color beds, and decorative container plantings. Recommend appropriate plant selections based on site conditions including sunlight, soil, drainage, and climate. Demonstrate knowledge of native plants and pollinator-friendly landscape practices. Operate and maintain hand tools, pruners, hedge shears, and small landscape equipment safely and efficiently. Keep garden areas clean, organized, and professionally maintained throughout the season. Communicate professionally with clients regarding plant care recommendations and project progress. Assist with landscape enhancements, garden renovations, and specialty horticultural projects as needed.
