What they do
A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

- Maintain ornamental plant displays, container gardens, and seasonal color installations
- Care for tropical plants, flowering annuals, perennials, shrubs, and other ornamental plant material
- Monitor plant health and identify pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress
- Perform pruning, deadheading, fertilization, watering, and plant replacement
- Monitor irrigation systems and recommend adjustments to promote healthy plant growth
- Maintain exceptional horticultural and aesthetic standards throughout the year
- Manage assigned properties independently while ensuring consistent plant quality and presentation Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional horticulture, ornamental horticulture, ornamental plant care, or interior plantscape experience
- Experience with plant health care, including pest management, disease identification, fertilization, and pruning
- Strong knowledge of tropical plants, ornamental shrubs, annuals, perennials, and container gardens
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida's climate
- Florida-friendly plant knowledge preferred
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Compensation & Benefits
