Job Description:
Operating Farm Equipment:
Mowing groves with tractor and 10' Bushhog Spraying groves with tractor and speed sprayer Spraying groves with truck mounted or pull behind sprayer Herbiciding groves with tractor and herbicide mounted rig Fertilizing groves with tractor and pull behind fertilize spreader and 3 point shot spreader Disk groves and new land with tractor and hydraulic disk Scouting groves for Citrus Pest, Disease, and Nutritional Problems. Paying close attention for Canker symptom, any psyllid activity and Greening infection. Assist in field plot maintenance and layout: Preparation of field plots, layout, installing irrigation and planting Harvesting of field plots and yield counts Cultivating of field plots Pruning of field plots Hand fertilizing of field plots Maintenance or irrigation systems and checking of microjets Calibrating of equipment for field research trails Planting trees, pulling and hoeing vines
Maintenance of Equipment and Vehicles:
Oil checks and adding fluid if needed Greasing Filter Changing and cleaning Minor mechanical needs to both equipment and vehicles Appling fungicide/Miticide spray trials for research projects
Transportation of Equipment:
Operating and driving 1ton truck towing 27' gooseneck trailer, and 33' trailer Record keeping and logs of pesticides in pesticide room and mix load facility
Expected Salary:
$15.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Florida Drivers' License or have the ability to obtain one Must take Tractor safety course and Pesticide safety course within 10 days of hire.
Preferred:
Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to operate all farm equipment listed in the job description. Special Instructions to
