Job Description

Irrigation Service Technician Punta Gorda, FL 33982 $24
  • $27 an hour
  • Full-time $24
  • $27 an hour
  • Full-time Job Highlights $24
  • 30/hour based on experience, plus multiple ways to earn more Your schedule, your choice — 3, 4, or 5 days a week, 10-hour shifts 37 years in business — room to grow with a company that invests in its people What Makes This Different A lot of companies will dig a trench and set a timer.
That's not us. For 37 years, Shaffer's has built its reputation on seeing what others miss — spotting the problem before it becomes an emergency and recommending the fix that actually saves the customer money. We don't send order-takers. We send professionals who take ownership of the job, explain the why behind the work, and earn the customer's trust for the next 30 years. Here, that kind of initiative isn't just appreciated — it's rewarded. About This Role This is more than a repair role. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and recognizes that every service call is a chance to solve the customer's bigger problem. You'll diagnose the system in front of you, but you'll also spot the failing components, the inefficiencies, and the upgrades that protect the customer's investment — and you'll know how to explain it in a way they trust. The technicians who take that initiative and grow their accounts earn the most here, because our pay rewards the value you create in the field, not just the hours you put in. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair irrigation systems — valves, pumps, controllers, wiring, and backflows Program smart irrigation systems and perform seasonal maintenance Educate customers and clearly explain completed work Identify opportunities to improve system performance and water efficiency Prepare accurate estimates and recommend solutions that provide genuine value What We're Looking For Irrigation experience preferred (residential and commercial) — a few years in the trade is a plus, but the right attitude and willingness to learn matter most Solid troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, or the drive to develop them Familiarity with pumps, controllers, valves, wiring, and system components Valid Florida driver's license with a clean record Strong communication skills and the confidence to recommend the right solution Smart irrigation certifications or experience are a plus What We Offer $24
