Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Horse Farm Worker and immerse yourself in the rewarding world of equine care and farm management. This dynamic role involves hands-on animal husbandry, maintenance of farm facilities, and operation of various farm machinery. You will play a vital part in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our horses while maintaining a clean, efficient, and well-organized farm environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for horses, including feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring to promote optimal well-being. Assist with horse training, handling, and exercise routines to ensure proper behavior and fitness. Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and other farm machinery safely to perform tasks like feed delivery, manure removal, and pasture maintenance. Maintain farm infrastructure by repairing fencing, gates, stables, and equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, or basic mechanical knowledge. Support irrigation systems and manage water supply for pastures and crops to sustain healthy growth. Oversee general farm upkeep including mowing fields, planting or harvesting crops if applicable, and managing greenhouse or horticultural areas. Supervise or assist with other farm workers or volunteers to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in animal husbandry with a strong understanding of equine behavior and care practices. Supervising experience preferred; able to coordinate tasks among team members effectively. Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance; skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and performing basic equipment repairs. Familiarity with farming operations including irrigation systems, greenhouse management, horticulture practices, and growing experience is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment such as forklifts or tractors confidently. Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety for both animals and workers. Basic math skills for measurements, feed calculations, or record keeping required. Knowledge of agriculture or farming best practices; previous experience working on a horse farm or in similar agricultural environments is highly desirable.
