Overview Join our team as a Swine Farm Technician and play a vital role in the health, growth, and well-being of our swine herd. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with pigs, ensuring animal care, maintaining farm sanitation, and facility maintenance. Responsibilities Assist in daily animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and monitoring pig health status Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure both animal welfare and personal safety Conduct routine sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and healthy environment for the herd Operate mechanical equipment such as feed delivery systems and cleaning tools with proper safety protocols Assist with animal movement, including loading, unloading, and transportation within farm facilities Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, breeding activities, and sanitation schedules Experience Prior experience in farming or agriculture environments is highly desirable Hands-on animal handling experience with livestock is a plus Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and basic veterinary procedures preferred Mechanical knowledge related to farm equipment operation is beneficial Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods Familiarity with sanitation protocols and biosecurity measures on farms Basic math skills for record keeping and inventory management This role offers an engaging environment where your skills directly contribute to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare.
