Starting pay:
$21.03 per hour. Details related to the position are below:
Shift:
1st Shift, four 10 hour days Tuesday through
Friday Compensation:
$21.03 / hr.

Corporate Health Club Discounts A Typical Workday May Include:
Maintain city flower beds, shrubs, and plants, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and controlling disease and insects. Maintain an inventory and record of all public trees, shrubberies, flower beds, and other decorative plantings, including location, species, size, and condition. Grow, transplant, and maintain trees, plants, shrubs, and flowers in the city nursery. Utilize the city's asset management system and computer-based tools to track work orders, assigned tasks, preventative maintenance, and equipment records. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot problems pertaining to the city's sprinkler systems. Operate motor vehicles and other equipment necessary to complete assigned work. Assist with snow removal operations as assigned. Maintain all equipment in good working order. Plant, mow, trim, rake, fertilize, and water the grass on public grounds. Remove, trim, and chip trees when needed. Maintain public grounds to keep areas in a clean and neat appearance. Participate in the construction of sidewalks on all public grounds. Spray city property with proper chemicals to control weeds and insects when necessary. Assist in developing and delivering community education materials and outreach by presenting them to local non-profit organizations and service clubs. What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Kansas driver's license and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements. Valid Kansas commercial driver's license, required within six months of employment.
What Will Put You Ahead:
One-year or more related experience. General knowledge of ground maintenance, plant/shrubbery maintenance, horticulture techniques, landscaping design and construction techniques. General knowledge in the safe use of standard hand and power equipment. Ability to identify, transplant, and maintain various plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Ability to operate all division equipment. Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the general public and communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing.
