Job Description

NatureMed is seeking Plant Technicians to care for cannabis plants in our new cultivation facilities in Erlanger. The ideal candidates are able to follow a systematic approach to care for each plant, document every step of the process, and produce consistent and quality products. Plant Technicians work solo or in small teams to accomplish daily tasks and provide the best care for our plants. Position Summary The Plant Technician provides daily care of the medical marijuana plants from planting to harvest. The Plant Technician provides quality care and attention to the growing process of the plants, which includes pruning, trimming, watering, and providing nutrients. The Plant Technician may assist with harvesting and processing the plants, through hanging, curing, and packaging of the plants. Detailed recordkeeping and strict adherence to the company's operating procedures and compliance with the state regulations are essential for this position. Primary Duties & Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Plant Technician include: Daily care of medical marijuana plants, including watering, pruning, trimming, and inspecting the plants. Fertilizing and providing nutrients to the plants according to cultivation protocols set forth by the Supervisor. Carefully monitor plants for any signs of growing issues or problems; treatment for disease or infestation. Assist with de-leafing and harvesting the medical marijuana plants, including hanging, curing, and drying the plants. Perform continuous systematic cleaning and sanitizing of the grow facility and machinery; dispose of waste according to strict compliance guidelines. Accurate tracking and recording of data during each phase of the cultivation process. Ensuring the appropriate information is accurate and listed clearly in accordance with the state regulations and company standard operating procedures. Carefully follow directions as provided by the Supervisor. Willingness to continue to learn best practices of medical marijuana cultivation with a strong interest in horticulture, agriculture and greenhouse operating systems. Performs any other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities Required:
Minimum of 1 year experience in the cannabis or other regulated industry, or 1 year of agriculture experience. Ability to record data (written or electronically). Extremely dependable and trustworthy. Detail-oriented and systematic. Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the cannabis industry and state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
The Plant Technician is required to stand for prolonged periods of time, moving about frequently in a confined space. This position also requires bending, stooping, climbing, crouching and kneeling, as needed, to care for the plants. The Plant Technician must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds frequently; and may be required to occasionally safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. The Plant Technician performs work in a warehouse-like environment with artificial lighting and ventilation, where there is a potential for mold, Carbon dioxide (CO2), and/or ozone exposure. PPE in the form of respiratory protection may be recommended in certain parts of the cultivation. Other potential environmental hazards include, exposure to corrosive chemicals; flammable/combustible liquids; electricity; and excessive noise. Working conditions include, working at heights; working in confined spaces; wet walking/working surfaces, and use of machines and hand tools. Schedule The schedule for this position varies and is based on operational needs. The cultivation operates (365 days a year), 24-hours per day. Plant Technicians are typically scheduled 8-9 hour shifts and provide coverage to best support their team and facility. The Technician's schedule may require extended hours, both day and afternoon shifts, weekends and holidays.

This position is required to report to their assigned location, in-person. Travel Infrequent travel to locations within the state may be required.

$14.00 - $15.50 per hour
