About Us Jean Brooks Landscapes is a growing landscape design, installation, and maintenance company focused on creating exceptional outdoor spaces with an emphasis on horticultural excellence, craftsmanship, and customer service. We work on high-end residential properties throughout the North Shore and Greater Boston area, maintaining beautiful gardens that evolve and improve year after year. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and detail-oriented Lead Gardener to oversee garden maintenance and enhancement projects on residential properties. This role is ideal for someone who loves plants, takes pride in their work, and enjoys leading a small team while building strong relationships with clients. Responsibilities Lead and manage garden maintenance crews on residential properties Perform planting, transplanting, pruning, deadheading, weeding, mulching, and seasonal garden care Identify plant health issues, pests, and diseases and recommend solutions Ensure gardens are maintained to the highest horticultural standards Train and mentor crew members in proper gardening techniques Communicate professionally with clients regarding garden needs and recommendations Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles Assist with seasonal color displays and garden enhancements Document site conditions and communicate project updates to management Qualifications 3+ years of professional gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance experience Strong plant identification knowledge, including perennials, shrubs, trees, and annuals Experience leading crews or supervising field staff preferred Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Preferred Qualifications Degree or certificate in Horticulture, Landscape Management, or related field Massachusetts Pesticide License (or willingness to obtain) Experience with native plants, pollinator gardens, and ecological landscaping Fine gardening or estate garden maintenance experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $30-$35+ per hour , based on experience Opportunities for advancement and professional development Paid holidays and PTO Company uniforms Training and continuing education opportunities Supportive team culture focused on craftsmanship and horticultural excellence Why Join Jean Brooks Landscapes? $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
