What they do
A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description
Duties:
Seeding micro green trays Moving seeded trays to germination Moving trays from germination to light racks Harvesting, weighing, and packing product accurately while maintaining food safety standards. Packing cases accurately Labeling boxes accurately Post harvest clean up of tables, floor and room Hose down and sanitize flood trays Wash & sanitize harvesting machine Understand and implement plant watering schedule Learn to correctly use flat filling machine, and fill flats Use tray washer machine to wash & sanitize trays Drive for deliveries one day a week Ensure cleanliness and organization of farm facilitiesSkills:
- Attention to detail & thoroughness
- Experience in farming practices
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation and repair, if needed
- Knowledge of growing techniques is a plus
