Grower for Vegetables; Herbs; Microgreens; Annuals

Job Summary We are looking for 2 people to grow Vegetables; Herbs; Micro Greens; and Annuals; House plants and Tropicals inside of greenhouses for retail sales to customers. Duties Perform some heavy lifting as needed to transport plants, soil, and equipment. Propagate plants from seeds in trays and pots or other media. Irrigate plants effectively to ensure optimal growth conditions. Employ hand tools for planting, pruning, and maintaining plant health. Identify different plant species and monitor their growth stages. Manage garden areas, ensuring they are well-kept and free from pests or diseases. Work in greenhouses, adjusting environmental controls to optimize plant growth. Apply basic math skills for measuring soil amendments and fertilizers accurately. Engage in outdoor work across various weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Must speak English and preferably bi-lingual. Must have at least 3 years of experience in growing or horticulture is required. Must have experience with at least some of the following: tropicals; houseplants; vegetables and herbs. Strong mechanical knowledge related to gardening tools and equipment is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting sometimes as part of daily tasks. Familiarity with plant identification techniques is an asset. Basic math skills for accurate measurements in planting and fertilization processes. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments. A passion for gardening and growing plants is essential for success in this role.
