Job Description
Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Post-Harvest Technician supports the day to day operations of the Rugged Roots Trim / Post-Harvest department. This role is responsible for assisting with cannabis trimming, bucking, harvest support, sanitation, and flower room turnover while maintaining strict adherence to company standards, product quality expectations, and regulatory compliance. Post-Harvest Technicians play a critical role in supporting post-harvest workflows while helping maintain product quality, operational efficiency, and workflow organization throughout cultivation and harvest operations.Core Competencies:

Flexibility Duties and Responsibilities Operational:
- Assist with harvest take down and movement of harvested material
- Assist with post-harvest flower room cleaning, sanitation, and room preparation activities
- Transfer dried flower material on stems from drying racks into totes for curing in preparation for bucking and post-harvest processing activities
- Buck dried flower from branches in preparation for trimming and processing
- Assist with operation and monitoring of automated trimming equipment as directed
- Perform light touch-up trimming and hand-finishing as needed to maintain company quality standards
- Hand trim flower when required for certain strains or specialty products
- Follow post-harvest schedules and task assignments established by management
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work areas
- Handle cannabis products carefully to maintain product integrity and consistency
- Support cultivation, harvest, post-harvest, and processing operations as needed based on business and production demands
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Trim Manager or senior management Compliance, Safety & Standards
- Follow all Rugged Roots policies and Maine Office of Cannabis Policy regulations
- Follow all facility safety protocols and required sanitation procedures
- Maintain compliance with company SOPs and operational procedures
- Use required PPE and follow safe handling procedures when working with cannabis products
- Maintain organization and traceability of cannabis material throughout post- harvest activities
- Assist with maintaining clean and compliant work environments
