What they do
A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
One year of experience or training in farming, the care and maintenance of trees and shrubs, or groundskeeping: OR Six semester hours in a plant science or landscape field of study.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in athletic field maintenance including but not limited to: pregame field preparation, football field lining, baseball and softball infield dirt preparation (dragging, watering, etc.), marking foul lines, pitcher's mound and home plate repairs, and experience in turf equipment operation.SPECIAL OR PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work extended days, weekends. Routinely requires lifting of 20-30 lbs and working around tight bleacher areas; some tasks involve frequent lifting of 50-60 lbs; certain tasks require heavy lifting in excess of 60 lbs although the tasks may be intermittent and may be performed with assistance. Must possess a valid Class "E" driver's license; Pre-employment drug screening and physical. Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with UniversityPS-67. PS
