A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

Farmhand for Equestrian Facility Part time and full time opportunities. weekend availability a must. hours could be a mix of 8:00-4:30 or 8:00-12:00. If it meets our needs we are willing to work with your schedule! Compensation dependent on experience. Horse and or farm experience is helpful, but not absolutely required. We are willing to teach someone that is interested in the work. We have a busy lesson program as well as boarded horses in training. Teaching people competency with all aspects of horses is a mainstay of what we do.
Relevant but not required skills:
  • Experience in farming and agriculture
  • Equine handling and care skills
  • Knowledge of animal care practices
  • Ability to operate farm machinery
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks Job responsibilities include:
  • Providing feed and care for horses both in the stable and outdoors, including stall cleaning.
  • Managing the horse turn in/out from barn to pastures.
  • Performing general horse care such as blanketing and administering medications.
  • General cleaning.
  • Carrying out basic farm maintenance tasks
  • fence repair, weed whipping, general clean up.
You should:
be able to repeatedly lift 20-50lbs (water buckets, hay bales and grain bags); be comfortable working in all weather conditions; be detail oriented; enjoy being around and caring for animals; have reliable transportation, and the ability to reliably attend work as the horses need care every day no matter what, enjoy doing high quality work with a passionate team.
