A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description

Are you experienced with milking or livestock? Looking for a PT farm position working with dairy animals? We have AM weekday shifts and weekend AM & PM shifts. Join our award-winning small farm sheep dairy crew! Shepherd's Way Farms offers flexibility and an interesting, varied professional farm environment. The Sheep Dairy Technician must be reliable and have previous farm animal experience. They are responsible for milking sheep, parlor sanitation, assisting with animal care (watering, bedding, feeding), routine farm chores. During lambing, additional responsibilities and hours possible. The ideal candidate is energetic and dependable, works well with animals and finds satisfaction in a job well done. This work requires stamina, attention to detail and to the big picture, the ability to lift 50 lbs and a can-do work style. Animal experience required, milking experience, sanitation knowledge, and skidsteer and general repair experience useful. Must be able to work well independently and as part of a small team. Compensation based on experience & productivity, includes paid time off and a cheese share. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States and available to begin work within one-two weeks. Proficient English required.
Multiple shifts available:
Weekdays AM 6-11am; Weekends AM & PM 4pm-9pm. Weekday PM -- Some substitute shifts. Excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for a long-term role with a small, innovative sustainable farm.
