Farm Worker -

$17.00 - $20.00 / hour About the Role The Farm Worker - Level 1 is responsible for assisting in daily operations across our 675-acre farm . This role involves working with both high-yield crop production and livestock care. Being able to work in challenging weather conditions, move quickly, and think on your feet is essential. If you are looking to build a career in agriculture, this position offers tremendous potential for long-term growth within the company, including transitions to salaried, year-round roles.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
Animal Care:
Work directly with our livestock, focusing on poultry management. Tasks include daily egg collection, feeding and watering laying hens, and feeding/watering broilers.
Field Production:
Prepare crop beds, spread compost, assist with transplanting crops into the field, weed/cultivate crops, spread straw, staple down ground cloth, and lay plastic mulch.
Irrigation Setup & Maintenance:
Help set up irrigation runs, install irrigation headers for specific crop sections, set up drip lines, and quickly diagnose/fix leaks.
Harvest & Fulfillment:
Harvest vegetables, fruit, and herbs on a regular schedule; cut greens; and maintain accurate daily records of all harvested yields.
Miscellaneous Farm Tasks:
Adapt to shifting daily priorities and jump in on various farm maintenance or operational tasks as needed.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Wage:
$17.00 - $20.00/hour (with seasonal fluctuation in total hours).

Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
A background in farming, horticulture, or the restaurant/food service industry is preferred.
Environment:
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fluid, fast-paced setting with regular public interaction.
Reliability:
Punctual, dependable, and possesses reliable transportation.
Driving Record:
Safe driving record required.
Commitment:

In excellent physical condition, capable of lifting up to 60 lbs regularly, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to give and receive constructive feedback in a tight-knit team environment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to execute meticulous instructions repeatedly. Energetic nature with a willingness to work hard and have fun doing it!
