Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a dependable individual to support daily farm operations in the Pleasant Hope area. Responsibilities include pest management, sample collection, maintaining biosecurity standards, and supporting animal welfare and farm safety programs.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Monitor farms daily for pest activity and perform corrective actions as needed Collect blood, environmental, and clean-out samples as scheduled Complete accurate reports and maintain records Follow all biosecurity, animal welfare, ISO, and safety procedures Properly handle chemicals, farm samples, and equipment while maintaining safety and sample integrity Clean and disinfect vehicles and equipment daily Work independently and remain aware of contamination risks and environmental conditions Perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, kneeling, standing, and walking in farm environments Prepare farms after birds move out and set up farms prior to receiving new birds. Duties include, but are not limited to: Breaking down and washing feed pans, removing cool cell pads and brown-outs, and blowing out houses. Spreading bedding, setting up drinker lines, and reinstalling cool cell pads and brown-outs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Pest management experience preferred Chemical applicator license preferred or ability to obtain Valid driver's license with clean driving record Basic computer and communication skills Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail Knowledge of chemical safety, SDS sheets, and environmental regulations preferred Must be trustworthy, dependable, and organized Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass a background check and drug screen Cannot own or house avian species and must follow required biosecurity quarantine procedures
