A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.
Ensure all resort outdoor areas are healthy, safe, clean, and visually appealing through skilled horticultural care. This role installs, cultivates, and maintains flowers, plants, trees, shrubs, gardens, and landscaped areas throughout the property. The Grounds Horticulturist monitors plant health, performs seasonal horticultural projects, supports irrigation activities, and helps maintain the resort's appearance according to established quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plant, cultivate, prune, fertilize, mulch, and maintain flowers, trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants Monitor plants and landscaped areas for disease, pests, nutrient deficiencies, and other health concerns Identify plant-care needs and recommend appropriate treatments or corrective actions Prepare planting beds and install seasonal flowers, plants, and landscape materials Perform routine watering and assist with irrigation-system monitoring, adjustments, and basic repairs Apply fertilizers, soil amendments, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with product instructions, safety procedures, and applicable regulations Maintain lawns, gardens, planters, green spaces, and other resort outdoor areas Operate and maintain horticultural tools, landscaping equipment, and grounds-maintenance machinery Remove weeds, leaves, debris, and damaged or hazardous plant material from landscaped areas Support seasonal landscaping projects, property enhancements, special events, and resort operational needs Monitor outdoor areas for safety, cleanliness, and established appearance standards Maintain records related to plant care, chemical applications, inventory, and completed work as required Communicate and collaborate with landscaping team members and other departments regarding property needs

Minimum Degree Preferred:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum Years of experience: 2-3 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, grounds maintenance, nursery operations, or a related field. License(s)
Required:
Possess a valid Missouri "E" or Arkansas "P" driver's license. Preferred Certification(s): Horticulture, pesticide application, arboriculture, or other relevant professional certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, soil preparation, fertilization, pruning, and seasonal planting Knowledge of common plant diseases, pests, invasive species, and appropriate treatment methods Understanding of irrigation systems, watering requirements, and routine maintenance needs Skill in operating and maintaining horticultural tools, landscaping equipment, and grounds-maintenance machinery Ability to safely handle and apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other landscape-care products Ability to evaluate plant health and identify appropriate corrective actions Ability to plan and organize daily work based on seasonal priorities, weather conditions, and property needs Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality resort appearance standards Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a landscaping and grounds team Ability to identify and resolve various issues as they arise Effective communication skills for coordinating work and providing updates Ability to follow safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and safe work practices Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions Must meet and maintain the company's driving eligibility requirements
