Farm Management - Operations J.F. Phillips Farms J.F. Phillips Farms is a progressive row-crop farming operation in the Mississippi Delta producing corn, cotton, and soybeans. We utilize modern equipment, precision agriculture technology, and data-driven management practices to maximize efficiency, productivity, and stewardship of our land. We are seeking a motivated Individual who is passionate about agriculture, committed to excellence, and eager to grow into a larger leadership role within our operation. Position Summary This management position will work directly with farm leadership to plan, coordinate, and execute daily farming operations across multiple crops and field locations. This individual will play a key role in crop production, equipment management, employee supervision, irrigation management, and precision agriculture initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can lead people, solve problems independently, communicate effectively, and maintain high standards of safety, productivity, and professionalism. Primary ResponsibilitiesCrop Production Assist in planning and executing all crop production activities including planting, spraying, irrigation, fertility applications, and harvest. Monitor crop conditions and identify issues related to weeds, insects, disease, fertility, or irrigation. Assist with implementation of crop management recommendations. Equipment & Technology Operate and maintain modern farm equipment. Assist with equipment inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs. Utilize precision agriculture technologies, including GPS guidance, monitors, field mapping, and data collection systems. Troubleshoot operational issues in the field and implement solutions quickly. Irrigation Management Assist in managing irrigation systems and scheduling. Monitor water usage and ensure timely irrigation events. Coordinate labor and resources to maximize irrigation efficiency. Team Leadership Help supervise and train farm employees. Promote a positive, productive work environment. Ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Lead by example through professionalism, integrity, and accountability. Recordkeeping & Administration Maintain accurate production records. Track field activities, inputs, inventories, and equipment maintenance. Assist with budgeting and operational planning. QualificationsPreferred Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Crop Science, or related field. Required Skills & Experience Experience in row-crop agriculture. Strong understanding of corn, cotton, and soybean production. Ability to operate and maintain agricultural equipment. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license. Preferred Skills Experience with irrigation management. Knowledge of precision agriculture technology. Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting experience. CDL or willingness to obtain one. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work extended hours during planting and harvest seasons.
