Job Description

This is a dual role, and both halves matter year-round. When wrenches need turning, you're in the shop. When grain needs moving — harvest, post-harvest, or any point in between — you're behind the wheel of a semi. You shift between them based on what the operation needs. You're not a support role. You're the person responsible for keeping the fleet alive. If something breaks at a bad time, it's on you to have seen it coming. You run the shop like it's yours — because functionally, it is. What You'll Be Doing Maintain and repair the full fleet — tractors, combines, sprayers, air seeders, grain carts, drills, and trucks Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues Build and own the preventive maintenance schedule — you set it, you keep it Make the call on parts, vendors, and repair vs. replace Keep the shop organized — parts inventory, tooling, vendor contacts, warranty tracking Drive semi whenever grain needs to move, not just during harvest Track maintenance records and document decisions What We're Looking For Solid diesel mechanic background — engines, hydraulics, and electrical Experience with large farm equipment (John Deere, Case IH, or similar) CDL license, or willing to get one Self-sufficient — you know what needs doing without someone making you a list Someone who takes it personally when a machine goes down at the wrong time Comfortable living and working in a remote rural area What We Offer $30-$40 per hour depending on experience Housing included Year-round, stable work A straightforward family operation that respects your skills and trusts your judgment
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
