Plant Specialist Asheville, NC 28803 From $54,000 a year - Full-time From $54,000 a year - Full-time Plant Specialist Trademark Homescapes Inc. is seeking a Plant Specialist. This position will revolve around plant installs, on-going care and procurement responsibilities. Trademark Homescapes designs, installs and maintains residential landscapes in the greater Asheville area. We do everything from site work, water mitigation and hardscape to landscape design, plant installation, water features and fine gardening. As the Plant Specialist, you'd join an established group of experienced Horticulturist and installers to bring our clients landscapes to life. The Plant Specialist would be responsible for managing new plant installs, watering and care of new installs through establishment, manage on-going care in established gardens, perennial installations, assist with garden and container design, and assist in sourcing plant material. As the Plant Specialist, your duties may include: Following a maintenance calendar to care for established and new landscapes Maintaining an Almanac for each Client Communicating with property owners about ongoing development in the landscape Collaborating with designers and fellow horticulturist Pest and disease management Proper pruning of woody materials Deadheading and cutting back plants in the appropriate season Weeding Fertilizing Job Qualifications working knowledge of plant ID for trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, and annuals 2-4 year degree in horticulture related field or a current NCCPP time management and organization skills ability to delegate duties to small crew communication skills attention to detail experience working outside in all weather conditions ability to work with professional knowledge and guide client and installer needs
