A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.
Grounds assistants help with preparation and maintenance of the playing field for Omaha Storm Chasers events.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the maintenance and repair of the playing field including, but is not limited to turf (mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, top-dressing, over-seeding, discovery/control of weeds, insects, and diseases) and dirt (infield skin, baselines, home plate, pitcher's mound, bullpens, warning track) Assist with the preparation of the playing field for pre-game batting practice by setting up cage, screens, mats, and protective field covers Assist with preparation of the playing field for game use by grooming field, chalking base path foul lines, painting outfield foul lines, marking coaching boxes Assist with maintaining all turf and landscaped areas in and outside the stadium grounds Assist with tarp pulls as directed
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
