Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator specializing in farm equipment to join our dynamic agricultural team. In this role, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various heavy machinery and farm equipment essential for efficient farming operations. Your expertise will contribute to the successful planting, cultivation, harvesting, and animal husbandry processes. Responsibilities Operate a variety of farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment with precision and safety. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly and carry out repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, or by coordinating with maintenance specialists. Assist with animal husbandry tasks by handling animals safely and providing necessary care as part of daily farm routines. Support planting, cultivating, irrigating, fertilizing, and harvesting activities to maximize crop yield and quality. Supervise or assist with the training of new team members on equipment operation and safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, repairs, inspections, and operational logs to ensure compliance with safety standards. Requirements Proven experience operating farm machinery such as tractors, harvesters, forklifts, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance on farm equipment using hand tools and power tools. Supervising experience or leadership skills to oversee team operations safely and efficiently. Strong animal husbandry skills including animal handling, care routines, and understanding of livestock needs. Familiarity with welding techniques for minor repairs or modifications on equipment. Knowledge of farming practices including crop cultivation, horticulture, greenhouse management, irrigation systems, and growing techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery in various weather conditions. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or fertilizing schedules. Valid certifications for forklift operation; experience with equipment repair or welding certifications is a plus. Excellent attention to detail combined with a proactive approach to safety protocols in a farm environment.
