Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic agricultural team as a Farm Hand and Equipment Operator, where your energy and expertise will drive the success of our farming operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with a variety of farm machinery, livestock, and crop management tasks. You will play a vital part in maintaining the health of our animals, ensuring efficient operation of heavy equipment, and supporting sustainable farming practices. Duties Operate and maintain farm machinery including tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, and other heavy equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. Perform routine equipment repairs, welding, and maintenance using hand tools and power tools to keep machinery in optimal condition. Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, watering, grooming, and health monitoring for livestock including horses and other farm animals. Handle animal care responsibilities with attention to safety and humane treatment, including animal handling and managing breeding or growing programs. Supervise or collaborate with team members on tasks like planting, harvesting, greenhouse work, or irrigation setup to promote efficient workflow. Conduct general farm maintenance such as fencing repairs, greenhouse upkeep, and landscape management using hand tools and small power tools. Support growing operations by monitoring crop health, assisting with planting schedules, and managing horticultural activities. Qualifications Previous supervising experience or leadership skills in a farm or agricultural setting is preferred. Mechanical knowledge with experience operating farm machinery such as tractors, forklifts, or other heavy equipment. Strong animal husbandry skills including animal handling, care routines, and basic veterinary knowledge. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate power tools effectively for maintenance tasks. Knowledge of irrigation systems, greenhouse management, horticulture practices, and general farming techniques. Welding skills or experience with equipment repair are advantageous. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to planting or feeding schedules. Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment are a plus; prior experience with equine care is desirable.
