Job Description

About Us Treadlight Farm (est. 2015) is a certified-organic cut-flower farm and nursery operating on 20 acres in Kerhonkson, NY. We grow annual, biennial, and perennial plants in our fields and greenhouses and sell cut flowers and nursery stock from March through November to wholesale customers in the Hudson Valley, Westchester and NYC. At Treadlight Farm, we take pride in our work and believe in the responsible production of ornamental plants. Among our highest priorities are working in ways that minimize our environmental impact, and maintaining a positive, constructive, and comfortable work environment. We value honesty, clear communication, a can-do spirit, and intellectual interest in all things plant-related. We believe that every task and every team member is important, and that every job is worth doing well. Job Description Harvesters are Full or Part-Time, seasonal positions from March through November. Their role during these months is to harvest and pack out as many cut-flower bunches as possible while ensuring high quality standards. We will consider anyone who wants to stay on past the growing season for longer term roles. Harvesters harvest, process, and pack-out our cut-flower products from greenhouses, perennial fields, and annual and biennial fields. They work independently at times, and frequently with a team in our busiest months. Harvesting occurs in all weather conditions (excluding unsafe conditions), and is a physically challenging job. Because we grow hundreds of varieties of cut-flowers all season long, harvesters require training, an eye for detail, and stamina. Harvesters are sometimes asked to jump in on other team activities at the farm, which may include transplanting, weeding, and more. •
