Job Description

Position Summary Bachman Family Farms is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Farm Operations Lead to help coordinate and execute the daily activities of our diversified farming operation. This is a hands-on role focused on cattle care, hay production, crop support, equipment operation, fencing, and general farm maintenance. The Farm Operations Lead will work closely with ownership to identify priorities, organize daily work, and help ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This individual will lead by example through a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to continuous improvement. This is not a desk job. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and taking ownership of getting things done. Essential Responsibilities Livestock Operations Assist with daily feeding and care of cattle. Observe livestock and communicate health concerns promptly. Participate in cattle processing activities including vaccinations, sorting, weighing, and shipping. Monitor fences, water systems, and livestock facilities. Maintain accurate livestock records as assigned. Crop and Hay Operations Assist with planting, spraying, hay production, harvest, and other seasonal activities. Operate farm machinery safely and efficiently. Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Support field preparation and general crop production activities. Farm Operations Coordinate daily priorities with ownership and other team members. Help organize workloads to improve efficiency and follow-through. Identify maintenance needs and recommend practical solutions. Assist in training and supporting less experienced employees. Maintain clean and organized workspaces, facilities, and equipment. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Five or more years of experience in agricultural operations, livestock production, ranching, or a related field preferred. Experience operating tractors, loaders, UTVs, trailers, and agricultural equipment preferred. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Willingness to work extended hours during seasonal demands. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to walk uneven terrain and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to safely operate equipment and livestock handling systems.
Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on experience. Overtime opportunities during seasonal peaks. Paid time off and additional benefits based on experience and tenure. Help ensure cattle chores and farm tasks are completed on schedule. Contribute to a safe and positive work environment.
