Job Summary Join our vibrant agricultural team as a Blueberry Picker and become a vital part of the harvest season! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for carefully selecting ripe blueberries from the bushes, ensuring high-quality produce for market. This position offers an engaging outdoor experience where teamwork, efficiency, and attention to detail are key. Duties Carefully pick ripe blueberries from designated bushes, ensuring minimal damage and maximum quality. Follow established harvesting procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency across the harvest. Operate basic farm machinery such as carts, harvest bins, and lightweight equipment safely and effectively. Assist with farm maintenance tasks including irrigation setup, equipment repairs, and general upkeep of the blueberry fields. Use hand tools and power tools for minor repairs or adjustments to farm equipment and infrastructure. Support animal husbandry activities if applicable, including animal care and handling of farm animals associated with the operation. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, properly store harvested berries, and record harvest data accurately. Adhere to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, welding, and use of farm machinery. Qualifications Prior supervising experience or leadership skills are a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Mechanical knowledge or experience with farm machinery, power tools, welding, and equipment repair is highly desirable. Familiarity with animal husbandry or animal handling can be beneficial for farms with livestock components. Ability to operate forklifts or heavy equipment safely; certification is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in farming, agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse work or growing experience is advantageous. Basic math skills for record keeping and measurement tasks. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods outdoors in varying weather conditions. Knowledge of irrigation systems and greenhouse operations is a plus.
