Irrigation Assistant Danville, PA 1 DAYS AGO 22682667 Summary Danville, PA In-Person $13.88 - $17.96 per Hour 0 Months Experience Secondary education, no high school diploma (grades 9-12) No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description Job description The Irrigation Assistant is responsible for the proper care and plant development in their designated area(s), including but not limited to the principles and practices of plant cultivation and quality of the work done on the crops. This position will also monitor and adjust processes to the best growing conditions for all crops as trained or directed by growing leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage daily assignments and priorities assigned by Section Grower to maintain top health and quality of plants in your assigned area. Perform tasks such as planting, watering, fertilizing, and pruning. Monitor plant health, identify and address any pests, issues, or diseases. Operate and maintain irrigation systems and other equipment. Stay up to date on all training, as well as follow and enforce all safety policies and practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with and support other departments and managers, working as a team to accomplish a common goal.

Experience:

Previous experience working on a farm or in a landscape/gardening setting is helpful but not necessary. We are willing to train the right individuals to join our team. Basic math skills for measuring and mixing fertilizers and other materials required. Ability to retain mechanical understandings to operate and maintain equipment. High attention to detail. Ability to work in fast paced and physical environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed. Job Setting This position is primarily indoors in a greenhouse environment. Varying degrees of temperatures include high humidity, hot environments, and traveling outdoors between facilities throughout the year. Fluency to read, write and understand the English language is required. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Ability to use fine motor skills such as pinching, squeezing, and pulling. Must be able to lift to 35 lbs. repetitively for full shift without assistance. Rate of Pay:
