Through compassion, innovation and excellence, Calypso Enterprises is dedicated to providing the highest quality medical marijuana products to those in the Commonwealth who suffer from chronic conditions. Role Summary The Cultivation Technician (Flower) executes hands-on work inside flowering rooms from flip through harvest. The role follows SOPs for canopy work (trellising, defoliation, pruning), irrigation/fertigation tasks, environmental monitoring, IPM scouting, data collection, and harvest readiness support. This technician helps ensure high-quality, compliant flower is delivered to Post-Harvest on schedule while meeting Calypso's safety, biosecurity, and quality standards. Responsibilities Canopy Management  Install trellis/netting; tuck, prune, and defoliate per run cards and timing windows.  Maintain plant spacing and light distribution; remove senescent material to reduce risk.  Support crop steering objectives by executing tasks that drive desired plant architecture. Irrigation & Fertigation Support  Perform irrigation events as directed; check drippers, lines, timers, and emitters for function.  Take and log EC/pH of stock solutions, media runoff, and environmental/irrigation readings.  Mix stock solutions under supervision, label containers, and maintain line sanitation SOPs. Environmental Monitoring  Record room setpoints and actuals (temp, RH/VPD, CO₂) and verify sensor/monitor placement.  Check airflow (fans/filters) and dehumidifiers; report alarms, leaks, or abnormal trends immediately. IPM & Biosecurity  Complete scouting routes (sticky cards, leaf inspections with loupe), record findings, and flag issues.  Follow entry/exit, footwear, and tool protocols; maintain quarantine practices when required.  Assist with biological releases or corrective actions under manager/QA direction. Harvest Readiness & Cut-Down Support  Participate in pre-harvest checks (trichome maturity visuals, room clean readiness).  Stage carts, sanitize tools, and help coordinate cut-down to meet dry-room reservations and SOP specs.  Accurately tag and move plants/parts; capture wet weights and reconcile counts. Sanitation & Organization (5S)  Clean and disinfect rooms, trellis posts, tools, carts, drains, and floors per frequencies.  Restock consumables (gloves, labels, zip ties, shears) and maintain tidy, audit-ready rooms. Documentation & Compliance  Complete room logs, IPM logs, sanitation checklists, irrigation records, and calibration sheets accurately.  Use labels/scanners/tablets for plant/lot movements; escalate discrepancies the same shift.  Support internal/external audits with neat, current records. Qualifications  1+ year hands-on horticulture/CEA or cannabis cultivation preferred; entry-level candidates with strong plant aptitude considered.  Working familiarity with flowering room tasks (trellising, defoliation, irrigation checks, basic steering concepts).  Basic understanding of EC/pH, VPD, airflow/dehumidification, and sanitation in controlled environments.  Comfortable using tablets/scanners, following digital/printed run cards, and entering data accurately.  Detail-oriented, reliable, team-focused; able to maintain pace without sacrificing quality. Physical & Schedule Requirements  Stand/walk for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, ladder/trellis work at height.  Repetitive hand work (tucking/defoliation/pruning); lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.  Work in warm/humid rooms with horticultural lighting and dehumidification systems.  Regular exposure to sanitation chemicals per SDS (PPE provided/required).  Flexible schedule aligned to crop and harvest cycles, including occasional weekends/holidays.
