The successful candidate will help with daily milking operations, care for milking cows, and support general farm tasks. This role requires physical stamina, attention to cleanliness and animal welfare, and the ability to work early morning shifts. Key responsibilities
  • Operate the milking system and equipment, including setting up, monitoring, and cleaning
  • Milk cows safely and efficiently, following standard operating procedures and hygiene protocols
  • Monitor cow health and behavior; report signs of illness or injury
  • Assist with feeding, watering, and general care of dairy cattle
  • Maintain clean and sanitary milking areas and equipment
  • Assist with barn cleaning, bedding, and manure management
  • Record daily milk yield
  • Assist with basic herd management tasks Qualifications and skills
  • Experience with dairy cows or livestock preferred; willingness to learn on-the-job
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot milking equipment; basic mechanical aptitude
  • Physical fitness to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy items, and work outdoors in varying weather
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and animal welfare
  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of following instructions and farm routines
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a small team
  • Basic math for recording milk yield and feed quantities
  • Valid driver's license Working conditions and schedule
  • Early morning shifts (often starting before sunrise) with weekend work
  • Rural farm environment; exposure to dust, manure, varying weather, and animals
  • Physically demanding; includes standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements Physical requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; comfortable with animals and farm equipment
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons Compensation and benefits
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience. Range between $15 hr. to $20 hr.
