Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Beekeeping Worker and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of apiary management and honey production. In this energetic role, you will oversee the daily care, maintenance, and health of bee colonies, ensuring optimal hive conditions and productivity. Your hands-on approach will contribute to sustainable beekeeping practices while supporting the growth of our apiary operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine animal husbandry with farm machinery operation, all while promoting environmental stewardship. Responsibilities Maintain and monitor bee colonies, ensuring hive health and safety through regular inspections. Assist with hive management tasks such as splitting colonies, relocating hives, and managing swarm prevention. Operate farm machinery and equipment including forklifts, power tools, and specialized beekeeping gear to support hive maintenance. Perform equipment repairs and welding as needed to ensure all tools and machinery are in top condition. Handle bees safely during hive inspections, feeding, and harvesting processes using proper animal handling techniques. Support plant growth activities by assisting with greenhouse work, irrigation systems, and horticultural tasks to promote a healthy environment for bees. Conduct heavy lifting of hive components or supplies safely and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of hive conditions, treatments, and production data for ongoing health monitoring. Experience Supervising experience in farm or animal husbandry settings preferred. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience operating farm machinery, heavy equipment, and power tools. Familiarity with animal care practices, particularly in managing insects or livestock such as equines or small farm animals. Experience with equipment repair, welding, and general maintenance tasks on a farm or agricultural setting. Growing experience in horticulture or greenhouse environments is advantageous. Basic math skills for measurements, record keeping, and inventory management required. Knowledge of irrigation systems, heavy lifting techniques, and animal handling procedures highly desirable.
