Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Non-Exempt, HourlyPOSITION SUMMARY
The Cultivation Technician I provides manual labor to support the operations within the Cultivation department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. The Cultivation Technician I position will primarily support the flower department with day-to-day plant maintenance tasks and sanitation responsibilities. In addition, as determined by business need, Cultivation Technician I's may be flexed to provide support in veg, mom, and propagation.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Physical, repetitive agricultural work, follow directions and take instructions from supervisors
- Repetitive climbing on a ladder or working on an elevated platform
- Netting and Trellis flower plants
- Loading plants and placing emitters
- Tucking and spreading plants as directed
- Pruning and defoliating plants
- Proper Use of PPE in accordance with company guidelines
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and bag any excess plant material leaving the grow room clean once plant maintenance is completed
- Clean, sanitize, and store all grow room tools and equipment upon use
- Perform various manual cross-department job duties as needed
- Secondary but essential job functions
- All other duties as assigned

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV)
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
- Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive movements and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks.
- At times, the entire shift may be spent standing.
- Requires repetitive hand, wrist, finger and elbow movement.
- Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
- Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc.
