Job Description

Job Summary The Agricultural Equipment Operator - Hay & Forage Production is responsible for assisting in all aspects of hay production, including planting, harvesting, rebaling, and transporting products. This role requires skilled operation and maintenance of farm equipment, coordination with coworkers, and ensuring safe and efficient handling of hay in the field, storage areas, and during delivery. Key Responsibilities 1. Hay Production & Rebaling Assist with planting, tedding, raking, baling, loading, and rebaling hay. Perform routine checks such as greasing machinery, monitoring oil, and ensuring equipment readiness. Maintain a clean and organized rebaling environment. Support extended hours during seasonal peaks. 2. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operate tractors, mowers, balers, rakes, tedders, loaders, and skid steers safely and efficiently. Conduct routine maintenance and basic repairs on equipment. Clean and properly store machinery after use. Operate tractor trailers to move hay and support farm logistics. Skills & Qualifications Proven experience operating agricultural equipment (tractors, balers, mowers, loaders, skid steers). Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and minor equipment repairs. Strong physical stamina for extended outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Team-oriented, dependable, and willing to follow established routines and directions. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Agricultural training or equipment certifications are a plus. CDL preferred, but not required. Prior experience in hay production or farm operations preferred. Work Environment Outdoor, physically demanding role in diverse weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, dust). Extended or irregular hours, including early mornings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods.

8-10 hour shifts Day shift, extended hours as required by peak season demand Monday-Friday, with weekends as needed (but not often)
