Megan Connors Gardens and Design provides specialized pruning, boxwood care, rose care, landscape design, installation, and maintenance to award-winning gardens and high-end clients in the Knoxville area and is committed to the highest standards in customer service, quality, and professionalism. Qualified applicants have a desire to create inspired outdoor living spaces for our clients, value teamwork, demonstrate resilience, and have a positive and upbeat attitude.
Responsibilities:
Horticulturist Crew Member will Install and maintain landscapes including pruning, planting and transplanting, shearing, weeding, watering, fertilizing, spraying, mulching and more Follow clear directions from management and crew leader and maintain personal accountabilities Deliver results on time and with high quality Take ownership of multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish goals Communicate effectively Establish and maintain effective professional and customer relationships Consistently communicate progress to crew leader and managers Demonstrate resilience Readily tackles tough assignments Persists in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks Maintains a positive attitude despite adversity Proactively seeks feedback without being defensive Is open to criticism and talking about shortcomings Learns quickly when facing new situations Takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
Required Skills/Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively with management to meet deadlines Endure repetitive bending and twisting motions Must be able to consistently lift more than 60 pounds Must be able to properly and efficiently complete necessary jobsite and company paperwork Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain good driving record 1-3 years gardening experience Basic plant identification and care knowledge Ability to safely operate power tools, and other specialized equipment Ability to safely work from an 8ft ladder Ability to safely use shovels, pitch forks, rakes, and other hand tools
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Experience operating chainsaws, hedge trimmers, and other specialized equipment Ability to haul/back a trailer Associate or bachelor's degree in biology, agriculture, or related field Experience working in a plant nursery
