Summary The Irrigation Technician at Urban Dirt Landscaping is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems across client properties in the Austin area. This role ensures landscapes receive efficient water distribution while promoting water conservation and system longevity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced in diagnosing irrigation issues in a fast-paced commercial environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair commercial irrigation systems including controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, drip systems, and piping Perform routine system inspections to identify leaks, broken components, coverage issues, and inefficiencies Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic irrigation problems Program and adjust irrigation controllers based on seasonal needs, weather conditions, and water restrictions Conduct system audits to ensure optimal performance and water conservation compliance Repair or replace damaged irrigation components in a timely manner Monitor water usage and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste Ensure all irrigation systems comply with local and state regulations, including Texas water conservation guidelines Work closely with account managers, production managers, and maintenance crews to address client needs and property-specific requirements Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and system adjustments Operate tools and equipment safely, including trenchers, pipe cutters, wire trackers, and diagnostic tools Respond to service calls and emergency irrigation issues as needed Assist with system upgrades, renovations, and new irrigation installations Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle, tools, and equipment
