What they do
A Farm, Nursery, or Greenhouse Worker propagates, cultivates and harvests plants, primarily flowers, trees, shrubs and sod, and other crops such as mushrooms that are grown in greenhouses, or grows and harvests farm crops such as grain, fruit or vegetables. Operates and maintains equipment used to grow and harvest plants and crops. Cares for animals including dairy cows or chickens, pigs or other animals raised for meat.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Must have reliable transportation & live in the Harlingen area, speak English & Spanish, experience with animals, farm/ranch work or general outdoor work.
- Perform general ranch duties, including but not limited to:
- Open availability to work Monday
- Sunday; including holidays;
- This job is outdoors, working on a ranch with farm animals, feeding, watering, monitoring health, cleaning pens/water troughs, put out hay bales, etc...
- Animal care (experience with farm animals) and husbandry, such as feeding, watering, and monitoring health
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of animal living areas
- Assisting with breeding and birthing
- Operating farm machinery for various tasks if needed but not necessary
- Maintaining and repairing fences, buildings, and equipment (Ranch Work)
- Help maintain garden and lawn care (Outdoor work)
- Assisting with irrigation when needed
Skills:
- Proficiency in using hand tools for various ranch tasks
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and care techniques
- Familiarity with gardening and lawn care principles and practices
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic repairs on lawn equipment and basic plumbing repairs
