Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Clean Scapes is seeking an experienced Irrigation & Backflow Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, test, maintain, and repair commercial irrigation and backflow systems. This is a hands-on field position responsible for identifying irrigation issues, diagnosing system problems, performing repairs, checking controllers, and testing backflow prevention assemblies. The ideal candidate has extensive irrigation repair experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the required credentials to perform backflow testing. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of irrigation experience and the ability to work independently in the field while accurately identifying and resolving irrigation and backflow issues.ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES
Irrigation Troubleshooting:
Inspect and diagnose commercial irrigation systems to identify leaks, pressure problems, coverage issues, damaged components, controller issues, and other system deficiencies.Irrigation Repairs:
Perform irrigation repairs, including troubleshooting and repairing valves, sprinkler heads, piping, controllers, wiring, and other irrigation system components.Backflow Testing:
Inspect and test backflow prevention assemblies in accordance with applicable requirements and procedures.Backflow Troubleshooting:
Identify issues with backflow prevention assemblies and determine when repairs, adjustments, or additional corrective action are needed.Controller Inspection & Programming:
Inspect, troubleshoot, adjust, and program irrigation controllers to ensure systems are operating properly and efficiently.System Inspections:
Evaluate irrigation and backflow systems for proper operation and identify deficiencies requiring repair or additional attention.Document Findings:
Accurately document testing results, repairs completed, system deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.Preventative Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance to help prevent system failures and maintain efficient irrigation operation.Field Communication:
Clearly communicate identified issues, completed repairs, and additional repair needs to supervisors, operations teams, and clients when appropriate.Equipment & Safety:
Properly maintain tools and equipment and follow company safety procedures and applicable requirements while performing irrigation and backflow work.EXPERIENCE
Preferred 5 years of irrigation experience required. Extensive hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial irrigation systems. Experience inspecting and testing backflow prevention assemblies. Strong knowledge of irrigation controllers, valves, sprinkler heads, piping, wiring, and related system components. Ability to independently diagnose irrigation problems and determine appropriate repairs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to accurately document testing, repairs, and system conditions. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients. Commercial landscaping or commercial irrigation experience is highly preferredLICENSES
TX Driver License- Required TCEQ Licensed Irrigation
- Required (or equivalent experience of 5 years) Current certification/license required to perform backflow testing in Texas
