In addition to our core bison herd operations, we manage a thriving agritourism business (including overnight cabin rentals), a retail farm store, small-scale medicinal mushroom cultivation, and a diversified "farmette" (dairy, poultry, and garden). We are looking for a dedicated, multi-talented team member to help support all aspects of our growing farm and hospitality ventures. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, proactive individual to work closely with our Farm Manager. This role is highly diverse, blending traditional livestock care and field work with agritourism hospitality, retail support, and specialized farm projects. Key Responsibilities Livestock Care:

Provide general care for our bison herd and small-scale livestock (poultry, dairy, etc.).

Farm & Field Maintenance:

Assist with general fieldwork, fence repair, labor projects, and facilities cleaning.

Equipment Operation:

Operate tractors for tasks such as round-bale feeding.

Driving & Logistics:

Drive the farm truck and refrigerated truck for local pick-ups, deliveries, and moving meats/inventory between freezers.

Farmette & Garden Management:

Maintain our small-scale garden, poultry, and dairy elements.

Mushroom Cultivation:

Support weekly chore operations for our medicinal mushroom grow setup.

Agritourism & Hospitality:

Assist with guest preparation and hospitality support for our successful Airbnb overnight cabins.

Retail & Market Support:

Assist with periodic retail store sales and guest interactions.

Position Requirements Age & Transit:

Must be 18 years or older and possess a reliable personal vehicle. (Please note: Our rural location does not support public transportation).

Driver's License:

Must have a valid VA, MD, or DC driver's license with a driving record that passes our insurance company's review. (Out-of-state licenses can easily be transferred to a VA license upon hiring to satisfy insurance requirements).

Physical Capability:

Must be able to comfortably and safely lift up to 50 lbs. (e.g., feed sacks) and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Occupancy:

Employee-only occupancy (no additional residents permitted). One reasonable pet is allowed.

The cabin is move-in ready and fully furnished—complete with kitchen supplies, linens, and appliances. You only need to bring your clothes and personal items.

Community:
