Farm Hand - Chimney Springs Farm Position Summary
PAY IS NEGOTIABLE DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE AND ABILITY
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Farm Hand to join our cattle operation. This position is responsible for the daily care and management of livestock, operation and maintenance of farm equipment, fence repair, and general ranch upkeep. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in caring for animals, and is committed to maintaining a safe and productive working environment. Key Responsibilities Feed, water, and monitor the health of cattle. Can arrive on time for work. Move and handle livestock safely using low-stress handling techniques. Assist with calving, vaccinations, processing, and other herd health activities. Operate tractors, skid steers, ATVs, and other farm equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to drive truck & trailer. Maintain and repair fences, gates, corrals, water systems, and farm facilities. Load and unload livestock, feed, and supplies as needed. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and report mechanical issues. Keep accurate records of livestock, treatments, and daily activities. Complete other farm and ranch duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience working on a cattle operation preferred. Ability to safely operate equipment. Basic mechanical and equipment maintenance skills. Comfortable working with livestock in various weather conditions. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Valid driver's license required. Dependable transportation to and from work. Copy of driving record from DMV required. Drug screening required prior to hiring and upon request throughout employment. Background check required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Availability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during busy seasons when needed. Desired Qualities Dependable and punctual, must be on time daily Honest and respectful. Positive attitude and strong communication skills. Attention to detail. Commitment to animal welfare and quality livestock care. Compensation & Benefits Beginning pay based on experience. On-the-job training and opportunities for advancement. Every other weekend off.
