Job Description
Job Overview We are a cattle and horse farm looking for an experienced farmhand to help with our operation. We breed quarter horses and have a commercial beef cattle herd. We are looking for someone that is comfortable handling and feeding both horses and cows. Pay will be based off experience. Duties Assist with daily animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health and behavior Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, tillers, and irrigation systems to ensure optimal farm productivity Perform equipment repairs and fencing repairs Be comfortable lifting bales of hay Support planting, harvesting, and crop care activities Conduct routine inspections of farm infrastructure including fences, irrigation systems, pastures, and animal enclosures Assist with general maintenance tasks Qualifications Proven supervising experience or leadership skills in farm or agricultural settings preferred Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance is a plus Strong animal husbandry skills with experience handling livestock and/or equines Ability to operate tractors and other machinery Knowledge of farming practices including making hay and food plots Familiarity with animal care protocols and animal handling procedures Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions Prior experience with farming or agriculture is highly desirable
